Arrival to Sweden

Arrival
We at Special Olympics Sweden look forward to welcoming your
delegation.
All delegations are required to complete the “Travel Information” form and share their travel details.
Based on this information, our Arrival and Departure team will plan your arrival and provide support.
Option 1: Arrival by air to Copenhagen (Denmark)
If you arrive by air at Copenhagen Airport, our team will welcome you at an information desk. You will receive your accreditation (see Accreditation section) and train tickets.
Our team will guide you to the Øresund train, which will take you directly to Malmö. Upon arrival in Malmö, another part of our team will meet you and shuttle buses will transport you to your hotel.
Option 2: Arrival by bus or car
If you arrive by your own bus or car, you will travel directly to your
assigned hotel and register there.

Accommodation and participant kit
During SOSIG, the following hotels are used for international delegations:

Your delegation has received a room list via Dropbox,
indicating your hotel and room allocation.
Please note that room allocation is based on the information
provided by your delegation.
It is not possible to change hotels or room allocation.
The room list must be completed no later than 5 August.
At each hotel, hotel volunteers will welcome you upon arrival and assist with check-in.
You will also receive your participant kit.
Hotel volunteers will be available throughout the event to assist if needed.
Check-out
Check-out takes place on Sunday morning, 6 September, before departure to competitions.
More information will be shared via webinars and WhatsApp during the event.
Accreditation

Accreditation
During SOSIG, all athletes, coaches, volunteers and staff wear an
accreditation badge.
This serves as your ticket for the Games.
Accreditation is required to participate in competitions and activities during SOSIG.
You will receive your accreditation when you register at your hotel.
It includes:
- your name
- sport
- photo
- information about meals and transport.
You must wear your accreditation at all times, except when competing.
Your accreditation may be required to access certain areas, meals and transportation.
Competition Office

Competition Office
During the games, a Competition Office will be located in the stadium area.

Opening hours:
Thursday: 10.00-20.00 (for registration of Swedish participants with half-package)
Friday: 10.00-18.00 (for registration of Swedish participants with half-package)
Saturday: 07.00-18.00
Sunday: 08.00-16.00
The event management team will be on site, and you can get assistance with any questions during the event, for example if you have lost your accreditation.
Lost property can also be handed in here.
There is a Competition Phone open from Thursday, September 3, to Sunday, September 6. The phone number is +46703398630. The phone is staffed during the same hours that the competition office is open.
Toyota Athlete Recovery Room

Recovery to Perform and Feel Your Best
During the Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games, participants have the opportunity to visit the Toyota Recovery Room, a calm and welcoming space designed for recovery between competitions, activities, and other events throughout the day. Here, participants can make use of the recovery solutions provided by Toyota during the Games.
The Recovery Room is staffed by volunteers who are available to assist visitors and answer any questions about the equipment.
Booking
Teams and delegations can register their interest directly at the Recovery Room. A booking list will be available on site where visits can be scheduled and recorded.
Location
The Toyota Recovery Room is located in the foyer outside Baltiska Hallen, centrally positioned adjacent to the competition area and close to participant traffic flows.

Thursday: 09:00-10:00 and 11:30-14:30
Friday: 09:00-17:00
Saturday: 09:00-17:00
Sunday: 09:00-15:00
Toyota and Special Olympics
Toyota Europe is a partner of Special Olympics and supports the Recovery Room initiative during the Games, helping to provide participants with the best possible conditions for recovery, well-being, and performance.

Meals
The following meals are included for international participants:
Breakfast: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Lunch: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Dinner: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Breakfast and dinner are served at your hotel, while lunch is served at or near your competition venue.
All meals are scheduled and adapted to your competition timetable. See meal schedule here.
Depending on your arrival time, dinner may be provided on your arrival day.
If you have specific dietary requirements, please ensure that this has been communicated in advance.
Kiosks
There are kiosks at several competition venues where you
can buy simple food and drinks.
Payments at kiosks can only be made by card.
Cash payments are not accepted. This also applies to most shops and restaurants in Sweden, as Sweden is largely a cashless country.
Parking

Parking for bus, minibus or car
During SOSIG, there will be a shared event parking area for delegations arriving by bus, minibus or car who wish to park their vehicle during the event.
The address to the shared event parking area is:

The parking area will be signposted but not supervised.

Medical support
Medical staff are available at the main stadium area. At
other venues, volunteers and officials can contact medical staff if needed.
Drinking water
Tap water in Sweden is of high quality and safe to drink.
We recommend bringing a water bottle that you can refill during the day.
Payments
During SOSIG, payments at kiosks can only be made by card.
Cash payments are not accepted. This also applies to most shops and restaurants in Sweden, as Sweden is largely a cashless country.
Valuables
You are responsible for your own valuables. Do not leave
them unattended. Lost items will be collected at the competition office at the Stadion area.
Quiet rooms
Quiet rooms are available at all venues for accredited
athletes who need a calm space to rest.

Please follow instructions from staff and volunteers
to ensure a safe and well-organized event.
Volunteers

Volunteers
Throughout SOSIG, volunteers play an important role
in making the event possible.
Volunteers will be present at hotels, competition venues and activity areas to support you during your stay.
They can help with directions, practical questions
and general information about the event.
If you need assistance at any point, please do not hesitate
to approach a volunteer or member of staff.
