In September 2026, Malmö will host Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games. The event will be the largest sporting event ever held in Sweden for people with intellectual disabilities, welcoming athletes from across Sweden and around the world.

Speci-Lo is Special Olympics Sweden's very own mascot.
She is a brave lynx who loves sports and cheering on her friends.
At the Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games 2026, you can expect to meet Speci-Lo both inside and outside the sports arena.
11 sports
At the Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games 2026 in Malmö, we will be offering 11 different summer sports, both individual and team sports.
To participate, you need to be a member of a sports club, be at least 12 years old, and have an intellectual disability.

2000 participants
Up to 2 000 participants will gather for this year's biggest sporting event. Swedish participants will be joined by international participants from 25 euorpean countries.
2–6 september 2026
With unifying sport, fun activities for the whole family, and a grand opening ceremony, this is an event you won't want to miss. See you in Malmö, 2–6 September!
