Förändringar i organisationen hos WWR
Nedan följer ett utskick från WWR:s ordförande Richard Allcroft som berättar om läget i organisationen och om medarbetare påbörjat och avslutat sina tjänster. Dear The Swedish Parasport Federation and Paralympic Committe,
Firstly, although it is now February can I wish you all the best for 2024. It's a Paralympic year with of course plenty happening not just at the Games but throughout our sport.
The main reason for my communication is to provide you with an update to our organisational structure. We have not been successful in recruiting and funding a CEO position. However, during the previous four years, we have clarified what is required of WWR as a Paralympic International Federation. It will be obvious that funding sits as the core reason behind not establishing the CEO position.
I will not go into further detail in this communication, however as always, I'm happy to elaborate further with any Member Organisation. Please get in touch.
I am pleased to announce that we have established a new role titled "Operations Manager". John Timms has been appointed to the role. Many of you will know John as he's been involved in the sport for 16 years. Mostly as a volunteer within our Competitions Working Group and more recently as WWR Head of Administration. John has also volunteered as a Technical Delegate at many WWR events including the 2014 World Championship and 2012 and 2024 Paralympic Games.
John knows many of you and others in the sport as well as a thorough understanding of our wider business. I look forward to working with John directly particularly as this will allow me to hand over many of the operational areas of business that I have been dealing with. This will allow me to focus on the role I was elected to do.
To help provide clarity to both the Membership and external stakeholders, Alison Bridge will take on the role of Head of Administration. Alison is likely to be known to many of you through her work in the WWR Office as well as being the Technical Delegate at the European Championship in Norway.
I will also take the opportunity to thank Greg Ungerer and Darren Roberts as Heads of Classification and Technical respectively. Both have decided to step down in their volunteer positions.
Greg steps down at the end of June and has been in the role since just before 2012. He has shaped the Classification Working Group so that it deals with not just the important aspect of appointing classifiers but also around education, database management, research projects and taking the organisation through two cycles of being IPC Classification Code Compliant.
Darren steps down at the end of February and has been in the role since 2018, starting in this leadership position during the World Championship in Sydney. Darren has formed his Working Group to deal with ongoing business in relation to appointments. He has also driven work related to updating technical manuals and constantly developing the professionalism and standards of our International Technical Officials.
Both have been keen advocates of ensuring all of our volunteer technical officials are supported appropriately. An open recruitment will take place with you as Members regards the replacement of these roles.

Jag är glad att kunna meddela att vi har en ny roll med titeln "Operations Manager". John Timms har tilldelats den rollen. För att ge klarhet i medlemskapet och till externa intressenter kommer Alison Bridge att ta rollen som administrationschef. Alison är sannolikt känd för många av er genom sitt arbete på WWR-kontoret samt som teknisk delegat vid EM i Norge.
Jag vill också passa på att tacka av Greg Ungerer (Head of Classification) och Darren Roberts (Head of Technical). Båda har bestämt sig för att hoppa av i sina volontärtjänster.
Greg slutar i slutet av juni och han har haft rollen sen strax före 2012. Han har format klassificeringsarbetsgruppen så att den inte bara behandlar den viktiga aspekten att utse klassificerare utan även utbildning, databashantering, forskningsprojekt och ta organisationen genom två cykler som IPC Classification Code Compliant.
Darren lämnar sin roll slutet av februari, en roll som han har haft sen 2018 i och med VM i Sydney. Darrens arbetsgrupp har hanterat pågående affärer i samband med utnämningar. Han har också drivit arbete relaterat till att uppdatera tekniska manualer och ständigt utveckla professionalismen och standarderna för våra internationella tekniska tjänstemän.
Båda har varit angelägna förespråkare för att se till att alla våra frivilliga tekniska tjänstemän får lämpligt stöd. En öppen rekrytering kommer att äga rum med er som medlemmar när det gäller tillstättning av dessa roller.
